Instruments 4 Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated
to providing musical instruments to children in need.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to
experience the joy, confidence, and creativity that music can bring.
6 Session Workshop
This workshop covers the fundamentals of playing an electric keyboard or guitar. Each session is approx. 30 to 45 minutes. We encourage the kids to learn easy melodies, chords, and songs.
WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS
- Introduction to electric keyboard or guitar
- Basic hand positioning and playing techniques
- Learning simple melodies and beginner-friendly songs
- Introduction to chords and chord changes
- Rhythm and timing exercises
- Musical listening and ear-training activities
- Building confidence through hands-on practice
- Opportunities to perform for fellow participants
- Encouragement of creativity, self-expression, and teamwork
By the end of the workshop, each child will have a solid foundation in their chosen instrument and the confidence to continue practicing, learning, and growing as a musician. Most importantly, they will discover that music can be a source of joy, accomplishment, friendship, and personal growth.
i4k Star Game Contest
This is a contest that any child can enter for a chance to win a grand prize keyboard or guitar kit! This contest is for kids who are willing to practice regularly.
CONTEST HIGHLIGHTS
- Open to all children participating in i4K programs
- No previous musical experience required
- Encourages regular practice and skill development
- Earn recognition for effort, improvement, and participation
- Opportunities to perform and showcase musical progress
- Builds confidence, discipline, and self-esteem
- Grand Prize Keyboard Kit or Guitar Kit awarded to the winner
- Additional prizes and recognition opportunities may be available
Freestyle Music Hour
We use the instruments donated to the shelters, pass out tambourines, shakers, etc., and simply play simple 1 or 2 chord songs so everyone can play/sing along to the best of their ability. We also have a show and tell portion that lets anyone who can play a melody or song show what they can do…
Freestyle Music Hour also helps participants develop valuable life skills, including:

- Creativity and self-expression
- Rhythm, timing, and musical awareness
- Courage to perform in front of others
- Respect and encouragement for fellow musicians
