Our Story & Mission
The instruments 4 Kids (i4K) mission is to provide musical instruments and lessons to underprivileged/underserved children living in shelters around metro Atlanta for free.
i4K was founded by Rick Sanford and the talent team at A Blast Bands and DJs®/The Blast Band® as a way of giving back to the community it has so gratefully served for over 25 years.
We are driven to create lifetimes impact experiences for these deserving kids… it’s something they will always remember and benefit from on many levels.
i4K received its tax ID number in 2021, has been granted its 501(c)(3) Federal Tax Exempt status by the IRS as a Public Charity, and is registered as a Charitable Organization in Georgia.

Every child deserves the opportunity to discover their unique voice. Music provides a powerful outlet for self-expression, helping children communicate thoughts, emotions, and ideas in ways words alone often cannot. Whether playing an instrument, singing, or creating original music, children gain confidence as they learn to express themselves authentically.
Beyond creative expression, music has been shown to support cognitive development and academic success. Learning music strengthens memory, improves focus, enhances problem-solving abilities, and encourages critical thinking skills that benefit children both inside and outside the classroom.
